List Your Home During the Holidays

Homeowners who put their property for sale during the holidays will attract serious buyers, many of whom base their decisions on the emotions invoked by the season.

Buyers who shop during the holidays have fewer choices but more time to search due to work closures. Additionally, many are anxious to complete their purchases before the new year in order to take advantage of tax breaks and other financial incentives.

Meanwhile, sellers often find that holiday decorations jazz up the home's appearance. A holiday sale also allows them to make their replacement-home purchase during the busy spring homebuying season, when there will be more properties to choose from. In that case, sellers might want to request a later closing date or get the buyers to agree to let them stay until the start of the New Year.
